Assisted Dying and Eating Disorders
The current Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, or the Assisted Dying Bill would allow people with severe eating disorders to qualify for assisted dying based on the physical deterioration caused by their illness.

Eating disorders are among the most severe and deadly mental illnesses, yet treatment remains chronically underfunded and under-resourced.
Where is the justice in allowing people with eating disorders an assisted death before we fix their services and offer them proper treatment and compassionate care?
We need to be clear: people with eating disorders need access to effective treatment, not lethal medications to end their lives.

Three steps to save lives..

1
Write to your MP
Unfortunately, all amendments supported by eating disorder experts and charities were rejected at the Committee Stage.
So it is no longer possible to improve the bill through further amendments. Our focus must now be on encouraging MPs to vote against this version of the bill at third reading.
